Does Lucie's make all their meals fresh?

Yes, always. We use the highest quality ingredients and prepare your meal with care. Our meals are made to order in a small-batch process to ensure quality.  Meals go straight from the oven and into your sealed delivery box, so your food stays warm and safe.  

 

Where is my food being made?

We work from a commercial kitchen located in Costa Mesa.  Everything is prepared by professional staff, who all have the appropriate food handling training and certification. 

 

Do you take special requests? 

We are not able to accommodate special requests.  Our small-batch process is designed to reduce food waste and offer you a meal that is consistently delicious every time you order it.   We are always happy to hear any feedback you may have, and we will take your suggestions into consideration for future menu updates. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you will continue to enjoy our products and services.

This includes extras, such as salad dressings.  All meals include large portions of all components.  As an example, salads include 8 oz. of salad dressing, which is equivalent to a half a bottle.

 

Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?

While we'd love the opportunity to serve you, I'm afraid we can't safely do so if you need to be 100% free of any ingredient. We rigorously follow all food safety guidelines, but our food is made in a shared facility.

This means our food may come into contact with common allergens/sensitivities, such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, fish, shellfish, etc.

    Is your food spicy?

    No, none of our meals are spicy.  All our meals are mild yet flavorful, suitable for everyone in the family.

     

    What kind of oil do you use?

    We use extra virgin olive oil and canola oil.

     

    Why is my meat pink?

    Sometimes the other ingredients in the meatloaf/meatballs may make them look pink, but they are cooked thoroughly and are safe to eat. We temperature check all of our meats when they come out of the oven and keep logs to ensure they reach at least the minimum required temperature before packaging.

    MEALS

    How many people does each meal serve?

    All our meals are designed to satisfy 6 people with large portions of delicious food and sides. 

     

    Can I get a smaller portion?

    We focus on providing complete, family-style meals.  Couples and smaller families love the flexibility of having dinner now, and then saving some for later, whether it's for lunch the next day or for a future meal.  Most of our meals will reheat or freeze well.

     

    Does Lucie’s do catering or events?

    Many of our customers love using our service for small gatherings. Our meals can make it easy for hosts to provide a delicious and satisfying meal for your guests without the hassle of cooking or cleaning up. 

    We do not cater in the traditional sense, however our food is all delivered in family-style containers that you can set up however you like. These containers also work well to easily store any extras. 

    Many customers order for events, and depending on the timing will either have it delivered hot and ready to eat, or will request easy reheating instructions. Each meal serves 6 so you can easily scale to any size group.

    If we have at least 2 weeks advance notice, and you order at least 4 meals, anything on our menu is available subject to seasonal availability.

     

    ORDERING

    When is the last time to place an order?

    You may place your order until 3 PM the day of delivery. 

     

    Something came up, can I cancel my order?

    Your order can be canceled until 3 PM the day of delivery by contacting us by text or phone at ‪(949) 287-3038‬.  We do require an active order number to successfully cancel your order.

     

    DELIVERY

    Am I inside your delivery radius?

    We currently deliver within a 15-mile radius around our Costa Mesa kitchen.

    To determine if you are within our delivery radius, try one of these options:

    • Place an order and attempt to check out.  If you are outside of our radius, the system will tell you
    • Use any mapping tool and use 350 Clinton St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 as the address
    • Send us an email at hello@lucieswholesomekitchen.com and include your address

     

     I’m outside your delivery radius. Are there any options?

    We can only deliver within our 15-mile radius. Some of our customers have meals delivered to work, friends, or family members within our radius and pick up from there.

    Our goal is to expand next year so if you’re currently out of our range, please send us an email and your address, and we will notify you when we reach your area.

     

    When will my food be delivered?

    We deliver between 5:00 - 5:30 PM or 6:30 - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

    We use a private fleet of drivers or Door Dash for your delivery.

    If there are any problems with your delivery or questions on how to find your home, your driver will contact you.  Please make sure to provide a valid phone number and any gate codes or special instructions at checkout to avoid delays.   

    Note: The Door Dash system frequently severely overestimates your projected drop-off time.  As the driver nears your house, the projected delivery time will adjust.

     

    Will my food arrive on time?

    Lucie’s Wholesome Kitchen takes the responsibility of providing your dinner very seriously.  We will do everything possible to ensure your meal is delivered on time (within a 10-minute grace period), as ordered.  

    However, there may be delivery problems beyond our control that could impact the timely delivery of your meal. While we do have contingency plans in place and make every effort to avoid such situations, some factors such as traffic, weather conditions, power outages, or other unexpected events may cause delays or other delivery issues that are beyond our control.  

    In such situations, Lucie’s Wholesome Kitchen will make every effort to communicate with our customers about any delivery problems and to find a suitable solution.

     

    Will my food be delivered hot?

    Yes, our food is delivered hot and ready to enjoy, unless you have chosen a ready-to-bake meal.  Ready-to-bake meals come with easy instructions and can be prepared (or frozen) within three days of delivery at your convenience.   

     

    Do you have a pickup option?

    Orders are delivered to your doorstep, packed safely in a sealed box.  Pickup is not currently available. 

     

    Should we tip drivers?

    Our systems don’t currently have the ability to add driver tips, so you can tip at the door at your discretion. 

    When DoorDash delivers your meal, any delivery fees are paid directly to them.  They do not share driver compensation details with us. 

     

    Do we have to be home for delivery?

    We can leave your meal at your door or another designated spot if you won’t be available. There’s a space on the order form for delivery instructions.

    I didn't receive an order confirmation. Where can I find it?

    If you did not receive an order confirmation, please try one of these options:

    • Check your spam folder
    • Look at your account.  On our home page, tap the "person" icon in the upper right corner and sign in

    Return Policy

    Customer satisfaction is a core value of Lucie's Wholesome Kitchen. If you have an issue, we'll work to make it right. Because our product is a made-to-order perishable good, we do not accept returns.

    Please inspect your order upon arrival and reach out to us right away (within 1 hour of your delivery) if the item is not up to our usual standards, has any issues, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can address the concern and ensure your satisfaction.

    We'll make every effort to make it right, and will evaluate store credit or refunds on a case by case basis. Refunds will be applied to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please allow extra processing time for your bank or credit card.
